The first European Research Consortium on ITP Meeting: “Innovations in Immune Thrombocytopenia”, chaired by Professors Francesco Rodeghiero and Francesco Zaja, took place in Venice on 18-19 November 2024.
The event brought together around 200 guests from 21 different countries, creating a dynamic international environment. Leading experts in the field gathered to discuss key topics in immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), including new biological insights, new definitions and guidelines, national registries, and strategies to address unmet clinical needs. The congress also provided a valuable networking opportunity through the abstract sessions and poster exhibition.
Both meeting chairs agreed that the congress had exceeded expectations and set the stage for future events. Prof. F. Rodeghiero shared his satisfaction with the overall result pointing out that the meeting represented the state of the art in ITP, involving major scientists from Europe, USA and Canada, as well as FDA and EMA delegates and some international patient representatives. Prof. F. Zaja’s remarks on the importance of this meeting can be viewed in this video interview.
The success of the event highlights the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration in advancing research.
